At a meeting of the BMAA Council on the 13th February 2012, David Bremner was elected unopposed to the post of BMAA Chairman, the post becoming available because former incumbent Rob Hughes is moving abroad to start a new job with the FAI, the world governing body for air sports, based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
For many years David was editor of the BMAA magazine, Microlight Flying and he has been an active member of the BMAA Council for many years. Owner of a Reality Escapade, he is also an active pilot and is highly regarded by both the BMAA membership and recreational aviation movement as a whole.
David's former position of BMAA Vice Chairman has been filled by Paul Dewhurst, also elected unopposed.
The LAA congratulates David on his appointment and wishes him and the BMAA well for the future.
