Robin Hood Airport (the former RAF Finningley) is bidding for Class D airspace. This is a confined and busy area and a large CTR and TMA would present difficulties for VFR traffic, particularly with RAF Scampton to the southeast and Humberside, with its own Class D aspirations, to the north. The MOD also sees important issues with this proposal.
