The Board of Trustees will be 5 in number and include Dr Jane Garratt, daughter of the late David Armstrong, as a life-time Trustee at her discretion. The additional members to include the current National Coach of the LAA Pilot Coaching Scheme, two additional members of the Executive Committee and the LAA's Chief Executive.
The EC Trustees to be elected from within the EC and serve for a period of 3 years. An elected Trustee may stand for re-election on expiry of term and a Chairman of Trustees will be elected every three years from among the Trustees.
A Trustee may be removed from the Board of Trustees by majority vote of the Board and subject to ratification by the E.C. This provision will not apply to Dr Jane Garratt.
Any further major contributors to this fund will be recognised in an appropriate manner but the title of the “Armstrong/Isaacs Foundation” will be a permanent one in recognition of the importance of the initial contribution in setting up the scheme.
Fund Management
The allocation of funds for scholarships will depend on the assets of the fund and will be at the discretion of the Trustees. The Trustees will ensure that the fund does not become depleted to a point when the scheme is no longer viable. Fund investment to be at the discretion of the Trustees but subject to approval by the LAA Treasurer. Daily financial management and auditing to be undertaken by the LAA with no administrative charge to the Foundation.
