Aeroplanes, microlights and rotorcraft of all types decended on Little Snoring, Norfolk over the Spring Bank holiday weekend for their Fly-in in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The weather could not have been better, gin-clear skies all day and this attracted an un-official record of over 80 aircraft with a complete mix of mainly Permit and a few C of A aeroplanes. At one point in the afternoon the airfield was on the point of overcrowding, the parked aircraft stretching from one end of the 800m taxiway to the other, a sight that the hosts thought had never been achieved before!
Pilots were treated to a relaxed and informal atmosphere with a delightful rural back-drop, with the hosts putting on a barbeque and home-made cakes. Pilots and guests were able to walk freely around the parked aircraft which added to the informality. Such was the success of the day that all food ran-out by late lunchtime and club members were dispatched to obtain further supplies to keep the visitors happy!
The organizers would like to thank all those who attended and made the day such a success. Over £200 was raised in donations from visitors for the local Air Ambulance based at Norwich Airport. Little Snoring are hoping to make this a regular twice-yearly event.
