Light Aircraft Association Limited - an update: January 5th 2010

After almost a year of work, the LAA has restructured itself to better face today's emerging challenges. We have changed the name of the company, updated the Articles and now invite members to become beneficial shareholders.

There has been much written in the association magazine, plus information on this website. As of writing (Jan 5th 2010), the association's company PFA(Ulair) Ltd has now had its name change to Light Aircraft Association Ltd approved by Companies House. The Association itself has now been subsumed into the company and all LAA members have been allocated a beneficial share in the company. The company Articles have been lodged with Companies House and the final version (there were minor changes from the last published set as outlined at the EGM) is available by clicking here.

The Memorandum is largely unchanged and becomes almost redundant following the latest Company Act. It is available by clicking here.

The LAA Rules are available by clicking here. (apologies - correct version dated 22nd Dec 09 now uploaded)

We hope as many members as possible will take up the offer of a beneficial share by filling in the form in the January Light Aviation magazine, or by ticking the appropriate box on their membership renewal. But don't worry, all other services and offerings will be available to non shareholding members. The only difference of note is the right to vote at General Meetings - this is only available to shareholders. Any non shareholding member arriving to a General Meeting can sign to accept their share and therefore vote at that meeting. If you are planning to attend the February 13th 2010 General Meeting at Turweston and have not filled the shareholding form in, please allow a little extra time before the meeting to process the paperwork.
