EASA has issued AD No. 2008-0158 that affects the use of the Funkwerk (Filser) TRT600 and TRT800 series of Mode S transponders.  A copy of the AD is available from the web site of the Funkwerk (Filser) importer LX Avonics http://www.lxavionics.co.uk/transponders.htm.

Owners who have already received LAA approval to use the subject equipment must comply with the AD.  Funkwerk Avionics GmbH has identified the cause of the occassional problem that occurred with the equipment and, subject to EASA acceptance, will issue a Service Bulletin that will probably require the modification of the equipment.

We are now able to continue to issue new installation approvals for the TRT600 and TRT800 series of transponders, however, AD No 2008-0158 must be complied with.
