LAA are proud to announce our Rally 2025 sponsors Camping and Accommodation Camping passes, which cover the duration of your stay, are available upon arrival, at a cost of £65 . If you fly in and wish to camp under the wing, this is free. Camping facilities, providing basic amenities, including hot showers will be available on site. There is ample ground for caravans and mobile homes. The campsite will be open from midday Thursday 28th August and close on Monday morning 1st September. Please note entry to the Rally Exhibition Site is charged separately. Prices are for the duration of your stay. On site catering and bar will be available in the Exhibition area during event opening hours and evening food, bar and entertainment will be provided by Leicestershire Aero Club in the evenings.

< Back Carbon Monoxide in Piston Engine Aircraft Consultation 22 Feb 2024 In recent years, the CAA has been actively engaged in raising pilot awareness of carbon monoxide (CO) in general aviation (GA) and has undertaken multiple initiatives to promote prevention and detection measures to mitigate the risk. We have now launched a public consultation seeking stakeholder views on: the barriers pilots face in obtaining an active CO detector, the role that maintenance plays in combatting CO, the importance of protecting passengers from CO, and whether active CO detectors ought to be mandatory for some operations. < Back LAA Alert - FAA issues AD for Piper rudder posts 14 Feb 2025 Replacement of rudder posts not made from 4130N On 13.02.25, FAA issued Airworthiness Directive 2025-02-11 which requires the replacement of the rudder post on a large number of Piper types, where the part is not made from 4130N steel. Compliance time varies between 2 years and 10 years depending on whether a beacon light is fitted to the top of the fin post and depending on the power of the engine installed. < Back Alert A-07-2025 - Glastar Aileron Servo-Tab Pushrod Cracking 25 Jul 2025 LAA Alert A-07-2025 - Glastar Aileron Servo-Tab Pushrod Cracking A cracked aileron servo-tab pushrod was found on a UK Glastar aircraft. The pushrod consists of a thin-walled aluminium tube with an adjustable clevis at one end, and a fixed clevis at the other. The crack was at the adjustable end of the pushrod, and extended from the end of the aluminium tube to the hole approximately 1 inch from the end. A cracked aileron servo-tab pushrod must be considered unairworthy, and replaced before further flight. A-07-2024 can be found HERE and is also attached. < Back MTD-05-2025 Eurofox Rudder Pedal Cracking 19 Nov 2025 MTD-05-2025 Eurofox Rudder Pedal Cracking - Mandatory Inspection requirements, which must be completed before your next flight There have been two reported instances in the UK of Eurofox aircraft experiencing cracking at the right-foot rudder pedal on the starboard seat side, where it is welded to the rudder pedal torque tube, leading to the pedal no longer being rigidly attached to the torque tube. On at least one of these instances, aircraft handling was negatively affected, reducing yaw authority and seriously degrading flight safety. Note that failure of the starboard side right-foot rudder pedal results in loss of rudder control, even when the aircraft is flown from the Pilot in Command position i.e. from the port seat side. Please refer to the MTD-05-2025 document below for full details of the mandatory inspection requirements, which must be completed before your next flight and subsequently at intervals not exceeding 10 flight-hours or the next Permit Revalidation inspection, whichever occurs first.
